Stewardship is the responsible allocation, management and oversight of capital to create long-term sustainable value for clients and beneficiaries.*
At Artemis we believe integration of material factors relevant to a company’s business performance by our fund managers as part of their investment approach can contribute to better returns for our clients. As active managers we use engagement with companies** to inform both our investment decision-making and to provide feedback alongside voting at company meetings.
Information on stewardship in practice at Artemis can be found in our latest Stewardship Report.
*UK Stewardship Code 2026, Financial Reporting Council (FRC)
**Meeting companies does not apply to our systematic based strategies that use SmartGARP® or other data-driven strategies such as Strategic Assets.
There is a high level of integration between our investment and stewardship teams.
Stewardship activities within our funds are driven principally by the investment teams responsible for each strategy. In line with the freedom given to our fund managers to pursue their own approaches, teams at Artemis can make different assessments of the financial impact of stewardship related issues.
Our stewardship team works closely with our individual investment teams. It provides insight, research and analysis and support on voting matters and company engagement.
We are involved in a range of industry forums, networks and initiatives which align with our firmwide objectives where we work with others to raise standards, manage risks and help drive change across the investment management industry and in the companies in which we invest.
