Step 1: Choose an account

Artemis offers three types of account:

• Stocks and Shares ISA
• Junior ISA
• General investment account

Each account comes with different advantages, so it’s worth spending a little time comparing them to work out which is right for you. Please visit our Explaining ISAs, general investment accounts page to find out more.

Step 2: Choose a fund

We have lots of information here on our website which describes each of our fund ranges and their objectives. Key places you can find this are:

• Fund pages: visit our fund explorer which lists all the funds and unit/share classes we offer, and from there, choose the fund or funds you are interested in. The pages contain information on what types of assets (for example, shares and bonds) each fund invests in and in what parts of the world, the fund's investment objective, the fund managers, past performance, what the fund is currently invested in, the risks involved in investing in the fund, and more
• Fund factsheets: factsheets are downloadable documents in PDF form and contain similar information to the fund pages; they are handy if you want to print them out. You can find them on the fund pages (above) and in our literature library
• Key Investor Information Documents (KIIDs): KIIDs are regulatory documents, in a common format and layout across all asset managers. They explain the investment objective and policy of a fund, the investment risks, charges and costs and other information. You can find them on the fund pages (above) and in our literature library
• Fund commentaries and fund manager views: our fund managers regularly provide updates on the funds they manage, at least twice and year and often more frequently – what they are investing in and why, performance information and the market outlook – and also occasionally provide their views on relevant market topics

Step 3: Download an application form

Once you have decided your account type and the fund you wish to invest in, download the relevant application form from our literature library.

Here are some helpful tips on how to fill out the application form:

• Please ensure you read and complete the application form in full (to avoid any queries once we receive it)
• Your details – this information allows us to set up your account so it’s important to complete this in full. If you are investing on behalf of others, there is a section on this page to complete
• Your investment requirements – you will need to decide how much you would like to invest and what fund you wish to invest in. You can find a list of fund codes in this document
  • Each unit or share class has a minimum investment, which can be found on the fund code list
  • Before you invest, you should read the Key Investor Information Document (KIID), available in our literature library and tick the box to confirm you have done so
• Declaration and authorisation – it is important that all investors sign and date where indicated, otherwise we will not be able to accept your application
• Direct debit – if you would like to set up a regular payment, you can complete this section and money will be collected on the first working day of each month

Step 4: Submit your application

Send your application form to us in the post to Artemis Fund Managers Limited, Sunderland, SR43 4BH and include a cheque payment.

We will place your investment at the next available valuation point, when a contract note will be sent to you in the post the next business day providing confirmation of your deal reference.
