About this fund

The Artemis US Select Fund aims to deliver capital growth over a five year period by investing in a relatively small portfolio of investment opportunities identified by Artemis’ US equity team. However, the value of the investments selected by the manager may fall as well as rise with movements in stockmarkets or owing to diverse factors specific to individual companies. This could mean investors may not get back the amount they originally invested.

  • ‘Best ideas’: manager Cormac Weldon has the flexibility to invest in US company shares wherever he finds opportunity. The fund typically holds between 40-60 companies. Some holdings will be in smaller or less mature companies that the manager believes to have superior long-term growth potential. Investing in smaller companies can however involve higher risk because their share prices are often more volatile or they can be harder for the manager to sell.
  • Balancing risk and reward: the sizes of holdings in the fund reflect the manager’s assessment of the potential for the share prices to increase versus the potential for them to fall if market conditions changed. He strives to pay as much attention to evaluating potential financial, market and economic risks as he does to the investment opportunity.
  • Flexible approach: the fund adopts a flexible approach to choosing shares, changing focus as the economic and market cycle changes, with the aim of delivering returns in different economic conditions.
  • A highly-respected team: the Artemis US equity team has been working together for many years. It has built a reputation for its flexible and pragmatic investment approach.
  • ESG integration: the fund integrates ESG factors; for more information, visit Integrating investment and stewardship
