Positive impact

The assessment of a broad range of factors which do, or could, have an impact on value, including those related to environmental, social and governance (ESG) drivers.

Engagement is a core element of our approach and one of the means by which we develop our understanding of companies, raise issues with management and monitor subsequent developments.

Artemis considers impact and investing according to ESG principles as essential parts of fund management. Some of our strategies have specific ESG objectives.

Artemis Income (Exclusions)

Aims for rising income plus capital growth
UK focus but up to 20% overseas

The fund follows the same approach as the long-established Artemis Income Fund, but with an investment process that excludes stocks in the tobacco, gambling, weapons and fossil fuels sectors. It seeks to grow both income and capital over at least a five year period and is well-diversified and not overly exposed to any one industry or company.

Positive impact investing
Growth through disruption

Investing globally, the strategy seeks to achieve capital growth by investing in companies which the manager believes have a positive environmental and/or social impact. She uses quantitative filters and active research to identify innovative companies with solutions to the most critical sustainability challenges.

Uses Artemis’ SmartGARP® system
Diversified approach

Investing worldwide, this strategy has an MSCI ACWI Climate Paris-Aligned Index benchmark. It invests in a diversified portfolio of stocks that meet the manager’s criteria for transitioning to a low-carbon economy, targeting a weighted average implied temperature rise lower than 2 degrees Celsius.
