Services for charities
The Artemis hunters are expert at hunting Profits. But they are particularly proud to hunt on behalf of charities.
We have worked in partnership with charities for over a decade. We believe that we understand their needs. We offer:
- Strong, long-term performance
- A stable partnership structure
- Independent thinking
- Dedicated account directors and excellent client service
- Clear communication, free of jargon
Dedicated account directors
We offer a service to our charity clients, rather than a product. Many of our charity clients come to us because of our reputation for income investing. While we certainly have a long history of successful investing in this asset class, we also offer a broad range of global, emerging markets, European and UK equity strategies – as well as fixed-income and multi-asset portfolios.
Because we recognise the importance of building long-term relationships, our charity clients have dedicated account directors who are experienced at working in this sector. Our fees are straightforward and transparent; and our reports are clear and honest, avoiding jargon.
Our approach
Artemis’ fund managers all invest in the funds that they and their colleagues manage. This has been a key tenet of Artemis’ approach to investment since the firm started. It means that our fund managers’ interests are directly aligned with those of our clients.
We keep bureaucracy to a minimum, allowing our managers to concentrate on what they do best – selecting the right stocks or bonds for our clients.
Ownership
Most charities are independent. We are too – and owner-managed. Artemis opened for business in 1997. Our aim was, and still is, exemplary investment performance and client service. Our partnership structure gives our fund managers and client-facing teams the stability to concentrate solely on our clients, and on looking after their needs.
We have a history of recruiting and keeping fund managers with proven skills – and have an excellent record of retaining talented staff right across the business.
More about our corporate structure
Corporate governance and shareholder engagement
Everything we do at Artemis is designed to deliver outstanding investment performance and service to our clients. Our approach to corporate governance and engagement proceeds from that aim.
Artemis is an active investment manager. Fundamental research and regular meetings with company managers form a central part of our investment process. Close scrutiny of the performance, strategy and management decisions of the companies in which we invest is central to our stock-picking approach.
We therefore support the seven principles set out by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) in The UK Stewardship Code and our position in relation to them is set out in our corporate governance and shareholder engagement statement.
We are also signatories to the United Nations-supported Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI). This international network of investors is working together to put responsible investment into practice; and to develop a more sustainable global financial system.

The Artemis Charitable Foundation
As part of Artemis’ distinctive culture, the Artemis Charitable Foundation receives each year a fixed percentage of the firm’s revenues. That income is passed on to charities chosen by our staff, which encourages our staff to contribute to the world beyond fund management.
